Thank you Motor Transport for highlighting our sustainable growth story

Tomsetts Distribution would like to thank Motor Transport, regarded as the UK’s industry bible, and journalist Carol Millett for featuring Tomsett’s recent growth and sustainability journey in a national industry article published on 21 May online.

The feature, titled “Sustainable strategy and ‘personal touch’ wins Tomsetts Distribution £1m in new business”, highlighted how the family-run business has combined exceptional customer service with a long-term commitment to sustainability to secure more than £1 million in new business.

The article also recognised Tomsetts’ continued investment in its fleet, including new tractor units, rigid vehicles, trailers and the introduction of a 12-tonne electric truck through the DAF Early Adopter Programme, helping customers reduce the carbon footprint of their supply chains.

Managing Director Andrew Tucknott explained that while sustainability is becoming increasingly important, the company’s success is still built on strong relationships and personal service.

“We have built our reputation on providing a personalised service and developing strong individual relationships with our clients over many years. Customers value that personal approach alongside our ability to demonstrate a credible plan to reduce carbon emissions and measure our progress.”

The feature also recognised Tomsetts’ ambitious environmental commitments, including its goals of achieving carbon neutrality by 2030, Net Zero by 2040 and becoming Nature Positive by 2050.

For Tomsetts, it was particularly pleasing to see a respected national transport publication acknowledge that sustainability and commercial success can go hand in hand. By investing in cleaner vehicles, embracing new technology and continuing to provide the high levels of service customers expect, the company is proving that responsible business growth is good for both customers and the environment.

Everyone at Tomsetts Distribution would like to thank Motor Transport for the coverage and for helping to share the positive story of a business that continues to invest in the future of sustainable logistics.
