It was the first time Tomsetts Distribution had entered the Lewes District Business Awards and, arriving at the Amex Stadium as a finalist, and we had every intention of enjoying a lovely evening.
With over 250 people from the Lewes District business community in attendance Tomsetts were one of 38 finalists in 12 categories.
The trophies were presented by comedian Simon Evans and Company of the Year was, as usual, the very last award of the evening. We were only too pleased to have been selected as a finalist together with Industrial Construction Sussex Ltd and Wilson Wilson & Hancock Opticians and certainly had no expectations.
Andrew Tucknott said ‘When the sponsors of the award, Cheesmur Building Contractors started talking about the winners, we couldn’t have been more proud’. Hearing from the Managing Directors of Cheesmur’s who commented “We were impressed by the clear strategy for growth which has enabled Tomsetts to extend their area of operation to a global service in 2017. They have a strong commitment to the local area, with drivers, office staff and mechanics all based within a 15-mile radius of the business. From a number of impressive, high calibre entries this year, we were delighted to award the Company of the Year accolade to Tomsetts for their outstanding performance and vision.”

We couldn’t operate on the level that we do without them.’ said Andrew.
