Tomsetts helps bring Amaze’s colourful Story Trail to Brighton & Hove
Tomsetts Distribution has been delighted to play a part in bringing colour, creativity and community spirit to Brighton & Hove this autumn, helping deliver a collection of beautifully hand-painted BookBenches for Amaze’s Story Trail 2026.
Working alongside local charity Amaze, the Tomsetts team transported the individually decorated benches to locations across the city, ready for residents and visitors to discover as part of a unique public art trail.
A city transformed into a storybook
Running from 12 September to 8 November 2026, The Story Trail transforms Brighton & Hove’s streets, parks and public spaces into an open-air gallery of colourful BookBench sculptures.
Created in partnership with Wild in Art, the free, family-friendly trail features more than 30 large BookBenches designed by talented local artists, alongside smaller benches decorated by schools and community groups.
Each sculpture tells its own story, celebrating imagination, creativity and the importance of bringing people together.
Visitors are encouraged to explore the city, discover the different designs and enjoy a journey through the stories that make the local community so special.

Supporting an important Sussex charity
Behind the colourful artwork is an equally important purpose.
Amaze is a Sussex charity supporting families with disabled children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
The Story Trail aims to raise awareness of the charity’s work, encourage inclusion and generate vital funds to help Amaze continue supporting families across the region.
At the end of the trail, the large BookBench sculptures will be auctioned to raise funds for the charity.
Proud to play our part
For Tomsetts, supporting the project was a wonderful opportunity to put its vehicles and logistics expertise to good use for a local cause.
From carefully transporting the individually painted benches to delivering them around Brighton & Hove, the team was pleased to help bring this imaginative project to life.
As a Newhaven-based family business with more than 50 years of history in Sussex, Tomsetts is always proud to support initiatives that make a positive difference to the communities it serves.
A huge well done to the Amaze team, the artists, schools, community groups and everyone involved in creating such a fantastic event.
